PREMIERING MONDAY, AUGUST 26 (8:30-9:00 P.M., ET/PT) ON UPN

SERIES PREMIERE - The humorous circumstances of two radically different roommates newly transplanted to Kansas City are featured when the multi-talented Malcolm-Jamal Warner ("The Cosby Show") returns to series television with hip-hop stand-up comedian Eddie Griffin in the new half-hour comedy series "Malcolm & Eddie" premiering MONDAY, AUGUST 26 (8:30- 9:00 p.m., ET/PT) on UPN.

Good-natured verbal sparring and outlandish physical comedy mark the hilarious happenings between Malcolm McGee, an aspiring sports commentator, and Eddie Sherman, a tow truck driver who unabashedly talks aloud to his run-down rig, Broncula. Thrown into a roommate situation because their mothers are best friends, Malcolm and Eddie take residence in a sparsely decorated apartment above Kelly's Bar. Unfortunately for Kelly's namesake and proprietor, the guys treat the bar more like their living room than a place where people pay for drinks. In addition to these mismatched tenants who live at the top of the stairs, another frequent bar patron is the strapping Tim, an aspiring poet and perpetual student.

In the pilot episode, Malcolm practices for his sports commentator audition at the local radio station, earnestly recording play-by-play onto a demonstration tape while watching the basketball game... until Eddie accidentally blows up the television set. Insistent on helping his roommate replace it, Eddie wheedles Malcolm into attending a free "personal wealth seminar" where each participant is promised either a free TV or a set of steak knives.

"Malcolm & Eddie" stars Malcolm-Jamal Warner as Malcolm McGee, Eddie Griffin as Eddie Sherman, Jaime Cardriche as Tim, Miriam Flynn as Kelly, Angelle Brooks as Holly, Melissa Chan as Lisa and John Kassir as Rooster. The episode guest stars David Higgins as Bill Fontaine and Jean Speegle Howard as Gladys.

The episode was written by Joel Madison and directed by Rob Schiller.

Kim Weiskopf and Joel Madison are the executive producers. "Malcolm & Eddie" is taped before a studio audience in Culver City, California, and is a production of TriStar Television.
