I HATE FOX SNIPES!

FOX JUST MADE MY FRAKIN' ASSHOLE LIST

Dateline 9/08/08: The assholes at Fox just joined my shitlist with their placing an obnoxious snipe in the middle of the airing of Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles.

To top it off, after each break they have this stupid animated bug saying that it is Fox HD. No shit assholes. I know I am watching HD. Good Grief. We aren't stupid idiots, unlike the management at Fox.

FOX JUST KEEPS ON ROLLIN' ON

Dateline 9/15/08: Don't the idiots a Fox know that sooner or later they are going piss off one of the metal skins because they keep putting snipes on during Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles.

The Fox TOC just might get a visit from a metal skin :-)

Not only do we get a large obnoxious snipe, we even get a medium snipe earlier on in the show.

FOX TRYING TO BE WORSE THAN CBS

Dateline 9/16/08: What can I say. Fox is trying to have snipes that are more offending than what CBS is doing.

And as a bonus, the 2nd image is shown with and without the snipe (3rd image). Damn, that image look so much better without the snipe.

THE NEW FOX ANIMATED HD BUG

Fox is now using an animated bug to indicate that the program is in HD. Listen idiots, we know that we are watching via an HD display device, verses an old NTSC TV/Monitor.

The lines that are drawn on the images are various borders as defined in version 4.2 of the Fox Logo Specification. The color coding is as follows:

• white: the DTV safe area (5% overscan, though IMHO there should be zero)
• cyan: CinemaScope Letterbox
• green: 4:3 Pillar Box

It was thought that the little HD portion of the logo was in the 16:9 area, so that when the HD image is center cut for SD viewing, the HD portion of the label would be outside the 4:3 area. The bug does not fit into the 4:3 safe area, but with NTSC overscan, the HD text portion won't be seen and it is possible that some of the larger Fox portion won't be either.

To show that the lines are drawn according to spec, an affiliate bug is supposed to fit in the box created by the intersection of the lines, whene the bug is placed upper-left. As can be seen, the local affiliate bug is exactly where it belongs.

FOX GETTING CLOSER TO BEING WORSE THAN CBS

Dateline 12/02/08: They are still at this crap. Look at this shit. It was on the screen a total of 6 seconds and 23 frames.

BAH! HUM-BUG!

Dateline 12/23/08: First ABC does their animated snowflake bug, and now Fox does theirs. The animated snowflake bug started on the 22nd.

Dateline 1/06/09: With the stupid American Idol about to start, it idiots at Fox have decided to follow the rest of the sheep and plaster constant text on the screen.
